Sony Xperia ICS 4.0 Upgrade Dilemma 直接下载JB启动器更好 October 13, 2012

Extracts & comments by: Happy Xperia Phone Owner

Those who owned Sony Xperia smart phone series, especially the high-end ones such as Xperia Arc and Arc S, need not be troubled by Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) decision whether to upgrade your phone or not.

Simply put, you will (sure) to get the widely reported Cons (trade-offs) as extracted from the web. You can’t have the cake and eat it. The Xperia Arc series are already very good phones (especially Arc S) with superior camera, audio, display and video recording, don’t trade them off for the ICS user interface which may look different (but not really much superior).
Still not convinced? Read the following feedback or rather, big trade-offs after upgrade to full ICS version. Because, the Xperia ROM is not changed.
So, those who upgraded (to ICS), got their phone’s audio and video quality screwed plus lagging (slow down) App operation.

I followed the advice of just downloading the Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) Launcher onto my Xperia Arc S for a few days by now, and very very happy with its UI overlay. Yet I retain all the goodies (I.e. Superior video, camera software, fast browser and NO LAG in any App including HD games…) of my Sony phone. Also, Google Voice recognition, Performance Assistant, activates camera by hard button etc. are all there too! Voice activation of installed App is a piece of cake (which you can eat it too).

Be smart. Don’t just go for the form factor; go for rich content enjoyment instead. Yeah, the Arc S 1.4Ghz processor runs like a rabbit… Much faster than those upgraded to the ICS for sure.
