This is the 2nd Linaro.O3 build (Asylum-Omni KitKat rom) that I downloaded onto my Galaxy Note N7000, via the above zip file.

Download time of the zip was about 11 mins and subsequent installation was no hassle.
After successful installation of this new build, boot up time was reduced to about 35 sec.

Stability rating: 98% (Android keyboard)
GApps:   PA_GApps
Compatible with Xposed Modules
Upon moving up to 26 Feb Build the system runs even smoother.
Apps run on this updated KitKat 4.4.2 OS are fluid.

With refeence to yesterday’s rom update, this new build clearly states it is the SaberMod (toolchain) based.
However yesterday’s build was named as SlimSaber for the zip file. (Read the previous post in this blog).

Anyway i like the follow~ups (of new builds) coming on stream produced by Team Asylum. They kept fine~tuning the included features for users.

Xposed Framework works well on the ROM. Module position was swapped with System in this build.

Tapping the Android Version (Setting > About Phone) leads to the above rotating A symbol and the following pattern of play. Unique to Android KitKat version.

Today’s direct download of zip file onto my phone (152.49MB) was extremely fast, took about 2 mins. With another 3 mins from cache wipe and installation to successful system reboot into the Lockscreen. Hooray!

The Asylum wallpaper comes with this build is a bit iffy on the dark side though. This is their style. I would recommend the following one instead,

Continue to try out this SaberMod toolchain build… so far my impression has been good.

Today I searched and found that the great Team Asylum has published a new edition of their Asylum~Rom KitKat (4.4.2) – SLIM SABER.

I downloaded the Slim Saber zip file onto my Galaxy Note GT-N7000 which is already installed with Asylum-Omni 4.4.2 Linaro edition.  Using TWRP Recovery I successfully flashed the Slim Saber 4.4.2 and installed it.

I didn’t go for the full wipe of system data, instead I just did the Advanced Wipe for the Cache and Dalvik Cache. It turns out alright.

The next few days I will try out this new edition from Asylum Rom and see if it is good.  The zip file size is relatively small at 152.81MB.  I continue to use the proven PA_GApps (dated Nov 26, 2013) and latest SuperSU.

Since 16 Feb 2014 the Asylum-Omni KitKat rom new builds have been updated from 4.4.2 KOT49H to KVT9L.

APPARENTLY the change is based on new Linaro ROM zip file update.

This new build version (KVT49L) based on my initial usage since 16 Feb 2014 and today’s update, the ROM is very smooth and fast, with regard to Apps operation and UI, on my Galaxy Note.

One distinct observation is that the CPU seems to generate less heat than before. This is a good aspect.
Battery life definitely improved after trial.
