Redmi NOTE Finally Selling In India, At Shops! January 7, 2015

Posted by Admin in Uncategorized.

Redmi Note (4G) is being rolled out in Indian market, through Bharti Airtel shops. This is the first time Xiaomi is selling its product in India via actual shops direct to consumers.

As the largest telecom operator in India, Bharti Airtel announced that Redmi Note 4G would be sold at all its 133 telco shops in the six big cities in the country.

Xiaomi has to adapt to the reality that in India, majority of smartphone are sold through physical shops and not via Internet.

Analysts say that in India, only less than 5% of sales of smartphone are via Internet purchase.

Xiaomi announced that since July 2014, the company had sold about 1 million handsets in India. This is the most potential growth market for Xiaomi.

But the in route to Indian market for Xiaomi wasn’t a smooth journey. Now the company is still engaged in the court case with Erickson in India, albeit temporary it is allowed by the court to sell Qualcomm (chipset) embedded handsets.

With Bharti Airtel coming into the scene with Xiaomi headsets, it will revive the otherwise the falling out market of the telco contacted devices. In India, most smartphone users are not on Telco locked in contract like western countries.

If things are going the way Xiaomi had planned for, India will be the fastest growth market for the Chinese new rising star…

As in the case of recently the Indian air force stopped its members from using Xiaomi phones, because it is suspected that personal data might be channeled back to Xiaomi server in China. Many are not aware that Google and Apple have been doing likewise all the while.
