After owning the fantastic Redmi Note 4G for more than a month, today I have carried out the Root process on this device.

Credit must go to Alden Roi who provided the most efficient way to root this device. If you are interested in a fail-safe approach, go to the web and type in, “How To Root Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G Alden Roi”. There you go.

Here’s the instruction (a portion) by Alden,

* two points to note, you may need to download the SuperSU from Play Store if it does not work out for step 7.
Also, for step 2 above, you only need to place the files in the internal memory, under Download directory. If you were to download the files directly via your Phone, then it will be in the Download.

That said, you can actually carry out root process on this device without using a PC!

You can download the Root Checker app to confirm that your device is rooted after the last step system reboot.

Above:  Once your device is rooted, you can go to app Security > Permission to check on the Root Permission as well.

Make sure you back up your data before you proceed to update the Root Zip file to the system via Updater app.

You may want to download the latest CyanogenMod camera (ver. 2.0.004) APK onto Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G. It can be obtained from the web. The camera software is simple yet fast to operate, with necessary setting and creative modes. This is the default camera for OnePlus One.

Other things you may want to try out after root, such as install Custom Recovery, Custom Rom, etc. etc. Including the rooted app CPU Control and Greenify.
