I have used this Chinese One-click ROM flashing tool (see above) to select and flash the latest Android 5.0.2 Lollipop on my Sony Xperia S.

First thing first, you need to Root your device before attempting this. (Please read my previous article in this blog space on how to Root Sony Xperia S).

This Chinese (custom ROM) flash tool can be downloaded from the website, http://www.shuame.com/m.html as listed above.
Though it is written in Chinese language, the process is really understood because it is real simple.

Search via the flash tool, there are many custom Roms listed for LT26i (Xperia S). I selected this AOSP ROM based on Android 5.0.2 for my device. As it is the latest Android OS version.
This ROM package (zip file) it quite stable but not limited to the following goodies; I have yet to explore all the details of the rom.
~  it comes with essential Google apps.
~  it is a multi-languages rom.
~  it has more options for battery management.
~  the rom file is also packaged with TWRP custom recovery and Superuser within.
~  it comes with an “Awesome Beat” (trademark) music control app.
~  and, of course with the latest Lollipop (Android 5.0.2) stuff… And many more.

Now, the procedure to flash this rom ~

1.  After downloaded the flash tool from the above website on your PC, install it and open the exe file. Then go to the Rom Market and click to search for recommended custom roms for your device; in this case, Sony Xperia S LT26i.

Proceed to scan/review the Roms listed and for me, I go for the latest Android 5.0.2 version. See below.

Plug in your device (Sony Xperia S) to the PC, and the rest is simple ~ Click the right button in green.

Make sure your device already has the Android ADB Interface driver installed on the Windows PC. Otherwise it won’t work!

Then the process of moving and flashing the ROM package from PC to your device will start. All these are done automatically by the flash tool! You just wait…

The final part of the room flashing… And at the bottom part of the script you will see the sentence Flashing Done! …

Also, on your PC screen you will see the Tick mark within a green circle. It says, in Chinese “Congratulations”…

Now you can unplug your device from the PC, and it Will be in auto reboot phase… You will see the on screen colour dots moving around.

Once successfully boot up, you will come to the lock screen as below.

Go to tap several time on the Setting – About Phone – Android Version (5.0.2) you can verify that the ROM OS is Lollipop!

At this stage, you can go to Setting – Input & Language to change the Chinese wording to English.
And, this is important:  Reboot your phone into Recovery Mode (it is on the TWRP) WIPE – Advanced – Dalvik Cache and Cache!

If you miss this step, then your phone will be sluggish and won’t run smoothly! After wipe, reboot the system. It will ask you to fix the Root and proceed to reboot. (Don’t click the button “Don’t Fix Root”). When the system is being reboot, your Android apps are upgraded…
Also, remember to download Root Checker app.

After this final reboot of the device with the Wipe Caches, everything is ready for you to rock with Android 5.0.2 on your Xperia S!

Initial impression; The new Rom is smooth with Google apps updated. Enjoy!
